Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-22
HearHere is a voice-first platform for people to connect using recorded speech and time-indexed emoji reactions. These Terms describe the rules for using our services and how we handle your information.
1) Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using HearHere (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice (for example, in-app or by posting an updated date). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
2) Accounts, eligibility, and acceptable use
You may need an account to access some features. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for activity under your account.
Age. The Services are not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the Services. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us at support@hearhere.io.
Acceptable use. You agree not to misuse the Services. This includes:
- No unlawful, harmful, or abusive content or behavior.
- No attempts to access accounts or data you do not own or have permission to access.
- No interference with the Services (e.g., scraping at scale, probing, denial-of-service).
- No uploading malware or attempting to exploit vulnerabilities.
- Respect others’ privacy and the intended audience of each conversation.
3) User content, permissions, and moderation
“User Content” includes audio you upload, transcripts derived from that audio, emoji reactions, titles, topic metadata, and any other content you provide.
You own your User Content (subject to applicable law and any rights of others). You give us a limited license to host, store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Services (for example: storing audio in our infrastructure, generating transcripts, and showing the content to permitted participants).
Moderation and safety. We may remove content, restrict access, or suspend accounts if we reasonably believe content or behavior violates these Terms or poses risk to users or the Service.
5a) Deleting individual content
Users can delete their own uploaded recordings at any time using the delete icon displayed next to their posts within the app. Users cannot delete recordings uploaded by other users. When content is deleted it is removed from active systems and becomes inaccessible within the application, typically within seconds. We maintain internal backups for reliability and disaster recovery purposes. These backups are isolated from the live system, are not user-accessible, and are not used to restore deleted user content under normal circumstances. Deleted content is not reintroduced into the application once removed from active systems.
5b) Deleting your account
To request deletion of your HearHere account and all associated data, email support@hearhere.io with the subject line "Delete My Account" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days.
What gets deleted:
- Your account profile and login credentials
- Your uploaded recordings
- Your listening history and preferences
- Any reactions to other content you may have provided
- Any connections or social data within the app
What we retain:
- Internal backup copies may persist for up to 90 days after deletion for disaster recovery purposes, after which they are permanently purged
- Anonymized, aggregated usage data that cannot be linked back to you
- Data required to comply with legal obligations (e.g., abuse reports) may be retained as required by law
If you cannot initiate a deletion request through the product UI, email support@hearhere.io for support.
6) Privacy summary (what we collect, how we use it)
